Mango is an oval–shaped fruit that is originally from India. It has a fairly soft consistency and a thin, yet resilient skin. There is a seed in the center of all mangos, but it is rarely seen by the human eye due to the fact that the mango fruit is so tightly fused to it.
Mango has a sweet flavor, with the slightest tang. It’s one of the greater fruits, and tastes fine when served solo. Mango can also play a role in a Thai dish known as ‘mango and sticky rice’, whose namesake is derived from its ingredients.
Mango became an official snack on June 17th 2012.
