A sweetened and preserved cherry that is dyed a brilliant “cherry” red. Despite its rose–tinted beginnings as a delicacy, maraschino cherries are now quite plentiful and might be regarded by some as “cheap”. Those who dislike marschino cherries should avoid Las Vegas.
Maraschino cherries taste fair, but certainly not spectacular. They are best used as a garnish for cherry–flavored soda, but generally serve as an eyesore on anything else.
