Pork rind is a chunk of deep–fried pork fat. The result is a sort of yellowish abstract fluff. They are generally found in bags similar to that of potato chips, and are also covered in salt and various spices. They are sort of like popcorn, but made of fat.
Pork rinds have a respectable crispy texture, but their flavor leaves much to be desired. Additionally, pork rinds are extremely high in fat and sodium, which are generally regarded as negative properties.
Pork Rind became an official snack on July 19th 2012.
