Lime is a small green fruit that grows on a tree. It’s commonly seen with lemon because it tastes nearly identical. The fruit should not be confused with limestone or Lyme disease, which are both unrelated (except by name).
Lime has a very ‘citrus’ taste, which is to say that it is sour. It works well when lime juice is extracted and placed on savory foods. Often times, lime is used only as a garnish.
