Macaroni comes from Italy
(like most pasta), but macaroni paired with cheese

. It consists of boiled macaroni that has cheese melted all over it. Thomas Jefferson loved macaroni so much that he drew a picture of the machine that made it so that he could reproduce it in his new homeland.
