Sweet potato is a lot like yam, but even more like a potato that is orange inside. If you mashed up a carrot with a potato and sugar and somehow managed to wrap it back inside of a potato skin, you would have something similar to sweet potato.

Sweet potato is excellent. It’s the answer for the shortcomings of potato. It is extremely high in vitamin A which gives it a natural orange–colored brilliance. Sweet potato is an excellent choice of ingredient for mashed potatoes. Its most respectable role is in sweet potato pie.
